When we first moved to this place in late 2012, it didn’t look like a farm to most people. It was basically just a flat piece of land. A clean slate. But to us, it was a farm and it was the beginning of a dream come true. Our Father had blessed us beyond measure and of course we wanted to honor Him for our blessing. We needed a name for our farm. We prayed and talked and talked and prayed and finally we believed that “The Narrow Way Farm” was a fitting name. It described the path that we desire to be on, “The Narrow Way”. Yeshua (Jesus) said:
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
We praise and thank Him for this warning and take it seriously!
One might ask, “How does a person ‘enter in at the strait gate’ and walk on the narrow way? Thankfully, He gave us instructions for that. If we back up to chapter 4 of Matthew, verse 17, we read this:
“From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Repent. Merriam-Webster (online) defines the word repent in this manner:
-
1 : to turn from sin and dedicate oneself to the amendment of one’s life
-
2a : to feel regret or contrition b : to change one’s mind
So, we see that the first step is repentance. But who should repent? Romans 3:23 let’s us know:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
So we know that all need to repent.
How does one repent? I can tell you the way that we repented. When we realized that we were in need of forgiveness for our sins, we cried out to YHWH (The Most High God) in the privacy of our bedroom. We told Him that we were sorry for all the wrongs that we had committed against Him and asked Him to forgive us and to help us follow Him.
Following Him. That’s the next step. It will keep you on the narrow way. Yeshua said:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.” John 14:15
The way to follow Him, which is the narrow way, is to keep His commandments which can easily be found in His Word, the Holy Bible. Read His Word and do what it says.
We are praying that this points someone in the direction of the narrow way that we, the owners of The Narrow Way Farm, desire to, at all times, remain on.
